We are the major link that connects veterans of all ages to life-saving and life-changing programs.
The influx of wounded warriors during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom is, and has been, a strain on our military medical facilities. Thousands of these injured and ill men and women need to reach specialized medical facilities, especially as close as possible to their families. The military cannot always provide the needed transportation, and other options may not be available.
The majority of ACV missions are through commercial airline tickets. We also provide air ambulance service for qualified non-ambulatory patients. Our partner, Angel Flight, with its volunteer pilots and their planes, can be utilized for remote and rural areas, with flights limited to 1,000 or fewer miles.
The qualification process for requesting assistance is simple. To take advantage of our services, download the ACV Assistance Request Form and submit via email or fax. We then verify the information; groups/events ideally require 4 weeks notice to get best prices and ensure reservations. Other individual or small group travel ideally requires 2 weeks notice. Urgent timing requirements receive special handling. Emergencies are handled immediately. |
