Chase and Building Homes for Heroes® partnership reaches new heights
Since Building Homes for Heroes and Chase united in 2012 for the benefit of U.S. military veterans, the partnership has made extraordinary progress in changing the lives of those who serve and protect our nation.
One of the most important moments in the history of Building Homes for Heroes® happened four years ago, when it was selected to be a partner in JPMorgan Chase's Home Ownership Assistance program. Chase has pledged to gift 1,000 homes to veterans over a five-year period through its non-profit partners. It has also provided numerous financial donations, and is a major sponsor at nearly all Building Homes for Heroes® events.
As of August 2016, Building Homes for Heroes is approaching its 80th home gifted through its partnership with Chase.
Overall, Building Homes for Heroes® has been gifted more than 150 homes across the country through this program. Chase carries out considerable work to make the necessary repairs to the homes, and Building Homes for Heroes® enhances and modifies the homes even further to meet the specific needs of the veteran home recipient. The home is then presented to the veteran at no cost and with no mortgage.
This remarkable partnership with Chase has enabled Building Homes for Heroes® to assist considerably more veterans in need. Chase also assists in the recipient's transition into his or her new home, and in the area of financial counseling.
In addition to providing homes to veterans, Chase, through alliances with major corporate employers, committed to hiring a minimum of 100,000 veterans in total by 2020. That goal has evolved into the Veterans Job Mission – a coalition of companies committed to employing U.S. military veterans. As of May 2016, the coalition of over 200 companies has hired over 330,000 veterans.
