USMC Corporal Greg CaronNordic Builders of Tolland, LLC was founded in 1987 by a father and son team, Johan and Allan Koiva. Upon his retirement as State of CT Chief Engineer, Johan formed a partnership with Allan with the goal of designing and building quality custom homes and condominiums in the Greater Hartford area.  Today, Nordic Builders remains a family run business by Allan, his wife, Liz and their son, John.  Liz serves on the Board of Directors for the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association of Greater Hartford and was recently recognized as their 2013 Builder of the Year.

Nordic Builders has also received awards for their custom homes and townhomes and are proud to work closely with many talented local subcontractors and suppliers as part of their team.  Allan and Liz have resided in Tolland for over 29 years, raising three children.   Website: www.nordicbuilders.com

Advance Auto Parts Supports our HeroesAdvance Auto Parts presented Building Homes for Heroes with a ceremonial announced donation in the amount of $475,000 at the inaugural Advance Auto Parts Charity Challenge Pro-Am on August 27, 2012. It is the largest single dollar donation received by Building Homes for Heroes since the charity's inception. The event was held at the historic Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. Advance Auto Parts also made significant donations to the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Club of America, and JDRF at the event, totaling $2,000,000
