6th Honoree Dinner a huge success!
Building Homes for Heroes’ 6th annual Honoree Dinner at the Battery Gardens Restaurant in Manhattan was its most successful yet, drawing hundreds of supporters while celebrating our nation’s veterans, making it one of the most successful fundraising nights in the charity’s history.
The evening’s Guest of Honor was radio host and FOX News personality Sean Hannity, who humbly expressed his appreciation to the veterans in attendance, as well as to members of the FDNY and NYPD.
Emotional and powerful speeches were also delivered by Marine Corps Sergeant Kirstie Ennis and Army Specialist Hugo Gonzalez, both of whom earned several standing ovations as they spoke. Other veterans in attendance who are past and/or future home recipients of Building Homes for Heroes included Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Christopher Claude, Marine Corps Lance Corporal Billy Ventura and Marine Corps Captain James Byler.
For the sixth consecutive year, Liz Claman, of Fox Business Network, served as the Guest Mistress of ceremonies. Among other FOX personalities in attendance were Chris Hahn, Greg Kelly, Ainsley Earhardt, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Cheryl Casone, Geraldo Rivera, Bo Dietl and Anna Kooiman.
During the evening, George Sherman, the CEO of Advance Auto Parts, generously donated $400,000 to Building Homes for Heroes on behalf of the company.
The event provided the opportunity for supporters and friends to meet some of the many amazing veterans Building Homes for Heroes is helping and to personally see and feel the remarkable impact being created.
Building Homes for Heroes is on track to gift 36 mortgage-free homes in 2016, equal to one home every 10 days.
