On November 10, 2010, Building Homes for Heroes hosted its Inaugural Honoree Dinner at Battery Gardens Restaurant in New York City. The honoree was Thomas J. Greene, SVP of ICE Futures US. The event raised over $35,000 to help build a home for Army Specialist Brendan Marrocco in the Prince’s Bay section of Staten Island. It is hoped that the home will be completed by Easter Sunday of 2011. Many of those in attendance were commodity traders and clerks of ICE Futures and the CME Group.
Although Brendan Marrocco was unable to attend the event, his dad, Alex Marrocco, spoke on his behalf. The evening consisted of a cocktail hour, sit-down dinner, as well live and silent auctions. The event’s MC was award-winning anchor Liz Claman of the Fox Business Network. The entertainment included Daniel Rodriguez, “America’s Beloved Tenor”, Tony B & His Swing Band, and comedienne Ellen Karis. Additionally, there was a live performance by artist Scott LoBaido, who painted an American Flag while Daniel Rodriguez sang America the Beautiful.
Many thanks to Tom Greene! |
